Hey Guys! We're still under going some construction, polishing things up that sort of thing, but we haven't got a lot left to do so we should be open soon!

It’s early August, the last true month of the summer. Summer solstice is heading our way so we have darker nights to look forward too, and longer lie ins, unless you’re out on raids. The weather is still warm, warm enough to hang out in the oval without your jacket, even without your shirt. Of course this is Australia, so it’s not often it isn’t warm…

THE rules

The Basics

• Racism, Sexism, or indeed plain old discrimination in any shape or form is not accepted. Anyone found doing this will be banned without warning.
• The codeword is shade
• Bullying is not tolerated, if you have a problem with someone, keep a record of what’s happening and inform a staff member. They will deal with it accordingly.
• Artwork, characters and indeed posts are copyrighted to their owners. This Board is copyrighted to the makers, the owners, and Garth Nix.
• The Cbox is out of character. This means, no swearing and play nice!
• Have patience. Remember, not all our members have English as their first language.

Characters

•Characters are copyrighted to their creators. This includes histories and personalities.
•No Mary sues, Gary stues or marshmallows. Ok, i got you on that one! But really, No character is perfect, all have flaws.
•One character per account! And please, change your account name to that of you’re character.

The Application

•There are no adults in this world, and no one is older than eighteen.
• Change powers. Not everyone has a change power, and all powers are weak. No multiple powers and powers only grow in strength as you get closer to a generator. Remember, Water Dampens a change power, and can cause you to see and do what you might not want. Other times, depending on the volume of water, Powers stop working altogether. Using you’re power makes you weak, use it sparingly.
•Generally, these kids don’t have seconds names. Most of them were born in the dorms, or are descendents of those born in the dorms during the last change.
•Team leaders. Listen to them, they can save your life. They are in charge, and direct defiance’s will be punished, whether this leads to injury or otherwise.
•I’ve changed my mind. The code word is now screamer.
• Once you have written you’re application, you must wait for it to be accepted before you can start to play.
•Applications that are not finished within four days will be moved to the bin. To have it removed you must Pm a member of Staff.
•When applying you must use our form. Applications that do not use this form will be deleted.

Role playing

• Yes, there is a minimum post count. Please, keep it to at least two paragraphs. Writing replies to posts that are three words long is hard, and boring. If you’re struggling, have a look at role play help.
• Muse. I know everyone runs out of muse once in a while, and occasionally you just can’t right those two paragraphs. One paragraph is ok every once in a while, but anyone found posting less, and most of the time will be given a warning.
•Please keep your signatures to a decent size, with a width maximum of 500 pixels, and a height of 300. No one wants to spend ages scrolling through threads because signatures are too long.
• When replying to an open thread, make sure that no one else has previously replied. Replying to an open thread is like a claim, if you wish to join please Pm a member of that thread requesting it.
• No double posting. No l££t, and no txt cht bcz its hrd 2 rd n cmpli8ed!!
•If you start a thread, please keep track with it. There’s nothing more discouraging than replying to an open thread and no getting a reply back.
•Before you start an open thread, check and see if there’s any others first!
•Sex and violence. This is allowed, but nothing graphic, and no pictures/video. Any threads like this must have appropriate warning tags like [NC -17]
• Its not much, but we do ask that you have variety with your threads. We know that you make friends, and sometimes you fall into a pattern of only playing with the same people. This can make new members feel left out
•In fact, I quite like shade for a codeword.
• NO GODDMODING! This is unacceptable. You play you’re character, not other peoples. If you wish to god mode, then ask permission from the other player first, outlining what it is you wish to do!
Don’t god mod or power play. The terms are very similar, and neither is acceptable; for those who aren’t clear of what they mean. You can’t play another persons character, tell them what to do, or post there reaction. Your character can’t be invincible, everyone makes mistakes at some point in there life.

An example of what wouldn’t be acceptable:

He dodged the first bullet, the second bouncing luckily off the lamp post an inch away from him. Running full pelt at his opponent, crashing into him with precise aim and speed that couldn’t be dodged. Hearing the other mans ribs crack he brought up his fist and took aim at his jaw, sending blood spurting everywhere, and knocking the other man out.

That’s a mixture of both god modding and power playing. This is something like what it should be posted like:

He tried to dodge the bullets, unsure if any found there aim because his mind was focussed on attack. Attempting to block out any pain, running as fast as he could towards the other. Aiming to break something or stun him, then if he was successful take an aim at his jaw.

They are both the same situation, but played completely differently. The only time you have permission to power play or god mod, is if the person who plays the other character specifically says that you can. This is also acceptable:

They set off from the station, she walked quickly, hoping he would keep up, yet not really bothered if he didn’t. She stayed silent for the whole journey. Having nothing to say, she was too shocked about the news and anxious to get back. Reaching the door first she hurried in, pressing the key in the lock with shaking hands. Scared and nervous about what lay at the other side. Letting it swing open, before stepping into the darkness.

Moving the post on is different from god modding or power playing. I am not controlling the other persons character, but still moving them to another place, continuing the thread. Mary-sues can also be a form of god modding. In a subtle way making your character perfect above all others. It’s not fun for the other members, and only earns you a bad reputation!

That’s it! I know it’s a lot to read, but it makes everyone’s experience more fulfilling. One last rule though...
